Project Manager

Full Time in Vancouver, BC - Project Management 

Velocity is looking for a Project Manager who excel at creating partnerships with clients, fostering collaborations with teams, as well as bringing rigour and precision to everything we deliver. If you are interested in digital products and like to work with colleagues who are always learning and are dedicated to the quality of their work, then this might be the team for you.

Our Project Managers take ownership of managing both our team's delivery and our client team's expectations throughout every stage of the product development lifecycle. They also serve as the main point of contact for our clients.

Responsabilities

• Deliver projects on-time, on budget, and with quality.

• Collaborate with craft leads in strategy, product management, design and development to estimate the work and assign appropriate resources to complete the work.

• Develop a detailed project plan with dependencies and critical paths identified.

• Prepare the project budget.

• Monitor and track project execution against project plan and budget.

• Ensure quality standards are met on all deliverables.

• Communicate with the team and ensure all team members are aware of their tasks and timelines for completion.

• Pro-actively manage all aspects of client expectations and communications during the project.

• Identify and manage risks that would impact the delivery of the project and act proactively to resolve issues.

• Work with our business development team to help define and scope new client engagements.

• Seek opportunities to strengthen our relationships with our clients.

• Continuously engage the client, other stakeholders, and the team to ensure the team is delivering the value expected of each engagement.

• Help shape the discipline of Project Management at Velocity.

What We're Looking For

• 4-6 years of software design & development project management experience

• Proven experience managing projects for the creation and development of digital products using Agile and Waterfall methodologies

• Experience working with senior client stakeholders

• Broad computer science knowledge

• Can understand and contribute to technical architecture

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficient with Google Sheets/Excel

• Passion for digital products

• Top-notch communication skills

• The resilience to work in a flexible, start-up environment.

• Highly collaborative; team player

• Self-starter; able to juggle multiple projects at once
